One Very Happy Lady and Three Relieved Dogs

Meet Happy and his very happy owner. Happy made his way to my doorstep yesterday morning via the girl down the road. She woke up to this adorable dog tied to her porch by a very short leash. D is the same age as my oldest and her dad works in the morning having to leave her to get up and get ready for school on her own( he is a single dad). She knows that if she needs anything then she can just come right over. I was the first person she thought of when she found Happy. I told D that I would take care of the dog until we found his owner.

My girls instantly fell in love with this little Ewok. Not so much my two dogs. They were not happy in the least. After I walked my girls to school I stopped at the little convient store that I work at. I let my co-worker know about the dog and told her to let me know if anyone was looking for him. I wasn't home 10 minutes when my phone rang. The owner of the dog was at the store franticly looking for him. My co-worker sent her right over to my house(you can practicly see the store from my home).

To say this woman was excited is am understatement. She nearly pulled up into my yard and I wasn't even sure if she put her car in park. I handed her Happy and she put her face on top of his fluuffy little head and sobbed. She told me he had run when she let him out in the early morning hours. The poor woman a had been searching for her dog since 2 a.m. She thanked me many times and made sure to have me thank D.

My girls were sad but understood when they got home from school. They had fallen in love with Happy in the short time he was here. My two dogs were very relived.

Paco and Gypsy

Gypsy the gentle giant. She's still a pup at 8 months old so she has a bit of growing to do.

Paco, I'm sorry, that's Prince Paco. Don't let his cuteness fool you. He's my attack dog. He also picks on poor Gypsy.

Thanks for letting me share my dog story. It made my day to see the joy and love on that womans face.

Coming up tomorrow: My 100 follower give-away!

  4. Hi Magickafoot

Thank you! you are so right about dogs being 'a WOMANS' best friend. You would think I would have a house full of cats. Don't get me wrong, I love cats and if I didn't think paco would eat it I'd have one right now. I love the sound of a purring cat.

    Blessings and Love, V.

  6. How wonderful that you were able to help this frantic woman after she "lost" her dog, Happy. It is so hard NOT to fall in love with these adoreable critters when you are most definately an animal person!!!

  9. I love a happy ending. Thank the Goddess the owner and her dog were reunited. I know how easy it is to fall in love with a dog (or kitty). I feel for your girls, but Paco obviously would have made life miserable for everyone all around!

  12. Hi Real Queen of Horor

I can't believe you fell for those brown puppy dog eyes. He's really sweet to us but very protective of his house. He does better while we are out on walks. Good to see you!

  14. Hi Robin

You are so right about Paco. He did okay after a while, just hung out on his pillow. I'm sure if Happy triesd to get on his pillow that would have been a different story. I wish i lived on a farm so I would have room for all the strays I see. I feel soorry for them. Hope you have a fab day.

  15. Yeah Lady Moss,.... I just lost my little dog , "Uno" a month ago... Still pretty down about my loss.....
Trying the get the other dog ( offspring of "Uno" and about three times as large)The loss of my little "friend" has had me depressed for weeks... hopefully the "new" dog will help.... the male dog it has been an "outside" dog with little human contact conditioning the dog to its new environment and the fact tha it will become more of an "Indoor" dog may take some time ... but I really need this ...( and it is at least his "offspring"... so wish me the best.)

  16. Aww... a lovely story with a happy ending. I'm so pleased that owner and doggie were reunited. I'm having a laugh thinking about Paco and Gypsy. I bet Paco stopped picking on Gypsy while Happy was around. They probably had a temporary truce - "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" and all that. Haha.

  18. Hi Little Gothic Horrors

I think you are right about that. I could just see those two plotting something for just one moment. Every now and then you catch them snuggling. It's never long enough to get a pic though.

  20. That was a cute little Ewok! It's nice that he's back home, but I totally understand your girls' disappointment in having him go! Paco does look a little dangerous. You have to watch out for those little guys. :)

  21. Too many people would have closed the door or walked away with the excuse "I just don't have the time or energy to deal with this". Thank you for having the time, energy and heart for this little baby <3

  22. Hi Victoria

I couldn't believe how cute that dog was. I'm just fine with Paco and Gypsy though. They are both like having more children in the house. They get in trouble just like their human siblings.

  23. Hi Justine

I have always said that it's the little dogs that you have to watch out for. They can't help it though, the world is a big place and they feel they have to stand up for themselves to be seen!

We were going to name that dog Ewok if we couldn't find his true home.

  24. Hi Dark Mother

Your welcome. We always open our home to wayward pets. Some stay for a day others for a couple weeks. We have always been able to find their homes. I would hope someone would do the same for us if one of ours were lost.

    Blessings, V.
