Bah Hum Bug. I swear that's what I heard when my daughter put this outfit on Paco. I can almost feel his pain, the poor fella. He looks pitiful, doesn't he?
Bah Hum Bug is what I say to the whole Black Friday thing. I went once several years ago and swore I would never go again. I never need what is on "sale" and the crowds and rude people are not worth the bother. We did go to the mall on Sunday just to look around. (Sorry Justine, I couldn't find the mag with your illustrations in it. I looked everywhere.) Again, way too crowded. So today I will do the Cyber Monday. My girls have added things to my Amazon Wish List that they want. After I go to the bank to withdraw money so i can by an Amazon gift card I will shop away. Why not just use my debit card? Because I'm still waiting for it to come in the mail. I had to open a new account after the separation with my husband and it seems to be taking forever for it to come in. Oh well, at least I have that bit of money to buy a couple things for my girls. I'm happy with that.
The rest of the day will be spent paying bills and putting up lights outside. The inside of our house is decorated and includes a rotating tree that my mom gave us. I'll be sharing pics soon.
I hope you all had a wonderful weekend and are enjoying decorating for Yule and Christmas. Now off to the cyber stores I go.

ReplyDeleteBlack Friday used to be a chance for Canadians to cross the border into the States and shop till they dropped then limp back over the border with all their treasures, until this year. Black Friday was everywhere with stores being opened at ridiculous hours. I stayed nestled in the house fearing I'd come home with an injury or two. I'd much rather nestle up to my computer with a cup of spiced cider and my cat purring on my lap to search for gifts... seems more civilized.

I know what you mean about the "sales" because I didn't see much of anything marked down on Black Friday! Yeah, I was crazy and went to the mall that day. Although, I wasn't crazy enough to go out at the crack of dawn. Maybe the deals were only available early on. I didn't end up buying anything at the mall, and neither did anyone else from what I could see! It's probably safer to stay home. I heard about some people getting violent this year! ReplyDeleteI think Black Friday is the worst day of the year. Yeesh... I hid in my apartment until about 530 pm, when I had to run (walk, whatever...) to the bank so I'd have $$$ over the weekend. I hate that Black Friday has begun to coincide with my paydays each year. @_@
I've been doing much more of my shopping online as well. =D Amazon is totally wonderful for those of us (like me...) who aren't so fond of people in general, but have little tolerance for the rude. ^-^
And I love knowing that I can support small businesses via Etsy, etc. & make some wonderful creative person's day by buying things from them. ^-^

Oh boy, Paco is sooooooooooo cute. I hope he won't be offended (as a dog) but he has the same long suffering expression that my cats get when they are being forced to do something they don't want to do. Sorry, Paco! Haha.

ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. Growing up we had a small part poodle that we would dress up in baby doll cloths and push around in a stroller. Tippy loved it though. She used to chase us around the field when we were riding horses unitl we stopped and let her on. Crazy dog loved to ride on the 4-wheeler too!

I remember when I lived in up-state New York Canadians would camp out in RV's at the plaza's for a weekend of shopping. And yes, it is better to stay safe in your own home. Black friday can be violent.

My sister went out very early on Black Friday and didn't buy anything on sale. I just think it's all hype. The violent actions by some is sickening. I'm very happy I stayed home.

I'm like you about not being a big people person. Crowds just turn me off. Too much energy and emotions in one place.
I love Amazon and Etsy. Both are places that I do a lot of my shopping. I can only afford to buy for my girls this year so Amazon is about the only place on-line that I will shop. I have founfd them some wonderful things at second hand shops here in my town. My girls are awesome in that they don't mind if a gift is second hand.
