My Early Morning Walks

My favorite thing to do before work is to go on my morning walk. As long as it is not raining I don't miss it. There are several places I like to walk. This trail is one of them. It used to be a railroad track. The community has turned it into a bike/walk trail.

I was surprised to see this yesterday when I was walking. Must have been some kids having some fun. I like that they have kept a few memento's from the old railway.

The beautiful sunrise yesterday morning. The warmed the day up to sixty degrees if you can believe it. It's January and people are wearing shorts here in Indiana. I'm sure we are going to pay for this.

I love this old barn. There are usually Turkey Buzzards flying in and out of the barn. It must have been too early for those big, beautiful birds.

A few pics of the stream that runs along the trail. The song of a running stream is one of my favorite sounds of Nature. If i listen hard enough I can understand Her Song.

When i quit smoking two years ago I gained a lot of weight. I went from a size 4 to a size 14. With these morning walks and cutting out cream and sugar in my coffee and giving up soda pops, I am now down to a size 6. It took me year to get there but I have done. if I don't lose that last size I'm okay with that. I am still not smoking and will never smoke again. I do not have the desire to do it. Cream and sugar and Cokes are another story. I swear those were harder to give up than the cigs. LOL

Thank you for joining me on my morning walk. Hope you all have a wonderfully blessed day!!

I gave up ciggies too about 15 years ago. Now when I smell it makes me want to dry heave!

It's going to be 63 here today....UNHEARD of for our area this time of year. We should have a ton of snow by now but I am not complaining!

Have a lovely day my dear friend!

  2. What a beautiful way to greet the morning! The stream is great!
I'm jealous that I have to be to work at 0730. But at least it's getting light earlier so I can still see the sunrise.

You are very lucky!!!! I wish i was living closer to nature!! I live in Athens, near the centre and in the area i live there are some small or bigger parks but no river and not much pure nature around here!!!
As about smoking, i smoke from when i was 20! 11 years and i never tried once to quit it but i feel that if i don't do it soon i will never be as healthy as i need and i will never gain weight!! You see, i always was very thin but now i'm always under 45 kilos and i have to start exercising cause i have a week body!!
Words are easy but the point is to act!

  6. Such stunning pictures, Vivienne.
You are so lucky to have such a wonderful place to walk!
I love the old barn. It is exactly the sort of place I'd love to crawl into and sleep on a wet winter's day - as long as I had a heavy sleeping bag, of course!
Thank you so much for sharing.

    Blessings Y

  7. First of all, congrats on the weight loss. I am currently working on losing weight and it isn't easy. Second of all, I wish I had a nice path like that to walk on. I do most of my walking inside my house because that air is so bad here. And third, I love the picture of the barn!

  9. What a beautiful trail to take a walk on. I adore that photo of the old barn, and the creek is so pretty. A creek runs through my place, but it's very dependent on rain and snow. With this crazy winter, it's down to about an inch deep. You're right, we'll pay for it...

That's WONDERFUL that you don't smoke anymore! My mother passed away from Emphysema. It was a slow, painful death. I never have smoked because the first time I tried it, I set the end of my very long braid on fire! I figured that was a sign, lol. And congratulations on your weight loss!

    Blessings,

    Victoria

  11. As a kid, I had a barn when I lived in the country, and still have a real love affair with them; the more leany, breaky and dilapidated the better. (Leany and breaky are actual words from the Official Barn Lexicon of America.)

Years ago when I was in college at Purdue, in the proverbial heartland, I would drive out into farm country on the weekends, get lost, and take roll after roll of pictures of collapsing barns. I likes your picture. Takes me back. To the loft.
