Winter Spirits~ The Ice Queen

The Ice Queen, aka The Snow Queen, is the faery seductress. With her ice-cold stare she seduces young men only to steal her soul. She is a little like the Green Faery only she doesn't bestow creative illumination before she steals your soul, she just wants sex.

To me The ice Queen is more than just a 'soul stealer', she is the embodiment of a woman who is control of her own life and will answer to no-one but herself. She is confidant in herself and she knows what she wants and how to get. She is strong and self resilient.

I might try to mold my after this very strong Queen of Faery.  I don't want the souls of men I just want to be in control of my destiny with men.

Are there any other women out there who feel a connection with The Ice Queen? Don't worry, I'm not turning all bad on the world. I just think it's time I embrace the "dark side" of myself once in awhile. I say it's time to KICK ASS in this world!!!

Okay, now back to my normal mellow self.

Winter Blessings, V.

  4. I'm obviously not a woman, so I can't answer your questions. However, I do find it fascinating that you find inspiration in stories, myths and legends.

  6. Hi Leo

A mans point of view is always welcome here. What do you think of a woman who says to the heck with what people think I'm, gonna fun as long as no one gets hurt?

I love to find inspiration in stories. There is always something to be learned in a good story. It's what you do with it that counts!

    Thanks for stopping by, V.

  11. Weird, going by the picture, the Ice Queen looks so sweet and nuturing--a fun camping buddy; never would have pegged her for a powerful,self-aware, horny soul stealer, but I try to except all faery seductresses for who they are not who I think they should be.

  15. Hi Kim

Yes, i think she lives in all of us women. It just takes awhile for some of us to let her out.

  17. Really? I never associated the Ice Queen with anything sexual! I guess I thought her coldness would drive people away. When I hear someone referred to as an "Ice Queen" I always think that means she's a cold, mean person. I must have missed out on this legend!

I'd say there's a lot to be said for being in control of your destiny. As much as any of us can be anyway. :) I guess the best any of us can do is think out our choices and what the consequences of our actions might be. Making good life decisions is as close to being in control as we can get! So long as you aren't letting others make too many of your choices for you, I'd say you're on the right path.

  19. Feeling strong and confident is important. Sometimes we all need a bit of a "kick ass" role model when we're feeling put upon. In the words of Catwoman, in Tim Burton's, 'Batman Returns': "I am Catwoman! Hear me roar!"

  20. V, I think it's enormously importent to be a strong, confident, independent woman. I've never heard this story of the Ice Queen, but I think all women should have a bit of her personality in them.

  22. Hi Justine

i have read a few where she is a seductress. In all the pictures she looks like she asking a man to join her. She does turn "cold" once a man scorns her or she bores of the man she is with. Always treat the Ice Queen with love and respect and you might just melt her cold heart.

  23. Hi Little Gothic Horror

Thanks. I love that part in the movie. That's my new motto "I am Catwoman hear me roar". LOL

We all need a little of the Ice Queen to make it in this world.

  24. Hi Victoria

I agree. I ahve let too many people run over me in the past. It's my time to be strong and indepenent!

  26. Gorgeous post! yes I loooove the ice queen too! I see the empowered side of that energy and how that part of our nature is beautiful! Often books and stories only depict things in a black and white way! even what they call the darker goddesses...I have never viewed them negatively but see their powerful beauty and magic in all the gifts they carry! It is like seeing it in an enlightened perspective instead of a black and white thinking! Just like crows/ravens/black birds..I naturally loved them as a child seeing them as beautiful..and never knew why others automatically see them as dark or bad..i think kindreds like us are sometimes meant to renew these symbolic-archetypes and breathe new meaning into them so that others can see them in an empowered way!
Just some thought kicking about..sorry to ramble ha ha!
    Go Ice Queen!
    hugs
