After Christmas Clean-up

Today is the perfect day for the after Christmas clean-up. It is cold and snowy outside. I slipped out long enough to take a couple of pictures of the beautiful snow. The snow flakes are really big and fluffy. We are not going to get much snow but I will enjoy it while it lasts. I have figured out that if sit on my bed I can hook up to someones wireless Internet. I only hook up long enough to upload a few pics from my phone to my Face Book page. I would feel too guilty to stay on any longer.

I will be taking down all of my Christmas decorations in the next few days. I took my outdoor decorations down this morning in the cold snow. Good thing I didn't have much to take down. I know some people like to keep their decorations up until New Years or sometimes even longer. Not me, I want my down as soon as possible.

When will you be taking your Christmas decor down? Do you do it as soon as possible like me or are you one to hold off for as long as you can?

Coming up this week if I can get my daughter away from the computer long enough to hop on for a bit~ I will tell you about some of my fave Christmas gifts.

Happy Clean-up, V.

  1. I will be taking my decorations down the next two days as well. Most of the stuff ended up in my craft room. I will need another day cleaning up that room. Happy New Year to you!

  4. You are so lucky to have snow at the moment. I wish it would snow here. It has been too warm for the white stuff yet... Love your photos. They make me think of Narnia!
Like you, I'm always glad to remove the Christmas decorations as soon as possible. I am not a very Christmas person. I will be glad when New Year is over too! ;-)

    I hope you have a wonderful 2012.
    Best wishes,
    Jo.x

  5. Hi Vivienne,
My decorations will come down on January 1st. It's a tradition to listen and watch the New Years concert from Vienna, Austria, while cleaning up the decorations in this house. Nothing better then cleaning up while Johann Strauss waltzes are playing ; )

Hugs and please can you send us some of your fluffy snow ???

I'm glad I'm not the only one who can't wait for the holidays to be over. Way too much stress this year.

  10. Hi Robin

Mine has been up since Thanksgiving Day. My girls like to put it up as soon as they can. Of course it is up to me to take it down. I can understand you wanting to keep yours up a little longer.

  11. I'm starting to take it down, but definitely by this weekend. We didn't put too much up anyway.

    Your pictures are great. I'm wondering if I can't enlarge one and tape it to my window... we have NO snow here. Having a warmer than usual winter here in northern Ill. (^;

  12. Hi Lorelei

I can't believe you didn't get any of this snow. I'm right next door in Indiana. This is only our second snow, our first caused a lot of damge. This one is mild. We have been warm here as well. Almost spring-like on some days. I'm sure you will be getting snow in no time. Until then I'll just keep posting pics for you.

    Winter Blessings, V.

  13. I have to admit to hanging on to my decorations for as long as possible.
They've been up since Solstice, and we keep them until after January 1st.
Wish we could have some snow! It has been 17deg C here, so not much hope of that!
    Happy New Year :)

  14. Hi Ygraine

I know that if I would decorate later I would keep them up past Jan. 1st. It's going to be warm again on Thursday so this snow will not last. The weather has been a little strange so far this winter. Hope things get back to normal for Mother Nature.

  16. I'm with Robin, I always wait until New Years, actually the day after New Years to be exact! I have off that day usually, so I take everything, tree and all down then.

    Blessings,

  18. Hi Magickafoot

The weather has been strange here in America as well. I'm not sure what is going on with it.

Witchy books and tarot cards are the gifts I will share.

  19. Hi Kim

I think it just didn't feel like Christmas this year with both of my girls gone. I hope next year wil;l be a little better. I just want it over with for now. Yule was so much fun that i hope that will be our new tradition for years to come. Maybe then Christmas won't feel so lonely.

  20. Hi Dr. Theda

There are a few things that I am thinking of keeping out for a while. I like my porch when it is lit up with tiny little lights so i might try to find some white lights to put up for a wintery look. I hope you enjoy your "lamp" you should keep it up all year round.

Winter Blessings my friend, Lady Moss

  25. Lucky you, getting snow! I love the pictures you took of it. We haven't had any snow here since December 15. It's been horribly cold, though, so it's still on the ground.

I'll probably take down my decorations down the week after New Year's.

    Blessings, Victoria
