An Offering

While out on a walk in the little patch of woodlands in my neighborhood I stumbled across this scene. I know that this is littering but to me it has a sacred feel to it. It looks as if someone left an offering to the "Spirit of the Place" after a fun night of drinking with friends.  I thought of picking the can up but it didn't feel right. I had a sense that I was to leave it be. It was His, not mine. So I left this offering there. I have a feeling He likes Coors Light. It's one of my favorite beers as well.

The next time I go for a walk I will be sure to bring a bag to pick up the rest of the trash. If that one can is still there I will leave it. It belongs there.

  2. You know what? That's pretty cool! It strikes me as absurd that anyone would think that was an offering - but you never used the word 'think'. You said you 'felt' it was an offering. If you felt it, I'm sure it's true!

Way to listen to your instincts - even when they might seem a little absurd!

  3. Also, I 'felt' I needed to share this with you: my word verification was "wished"!! Kinda of a magical word for a magical post! ;)

  4. I like the way you think and feel about things, Vivienne... It is important to respect sacred spaces.
Maybe the little folk will find some use for the can and it may well be gone when you return.
I was going to leave you a comment on your last post about fighting the Zombies, but when I read it and then went off for my lunch, you had created this new post when I returned!;-)
I just wanted to say that you made me smile when reading that you kicked some Zombie ass! ;-))
I think the dream represents that you are a strong mother who is very nurturing and protective of her children. It is obvious to me that you will go to any lengths to protect your girls from harm!
Have a lovely rest of the week,
    Best wishes,
    Jo.

  6. It's cool how you found something beautiful in trash and some broken concrete. Not many people would have noticed it.

  8. Hi Lil Dreamer

Thank you. I like the absurd. It makes life fun and interesting.

How cool that your word was wish. I have found that some word verifications match the theme of the post I am commenting on. Thanks for sharing what you "felt".

    Blessings, V.

  13. It does look like an offering by the way the rocks are piled up and the beer can is sitting in the middle of them. It was probably best that you left it alone.

  14. I think an Old Milwaukee would have suited the scene a tad bit better. If you know what I mean!!!

  15. It does look quite different to ordinary litter. It looks as though it has been carefully placed there to avoid ruining the symmetry of it's 'rockscape'!
    Well spotted Vivienne!

  18. Hi Elle

I thought of that as I was taking a picture. If it had been an old Milwaukee I probably would go back and share a beer with him.

    Love you, V.

  20. Oh dear, even just looking at the photo makes me want to grab the can and throw it into a bin. You certainly have a poetic soul, Vivienne, to see the beauty in a beer can. :)

  21. Hi Little Gothic Horrors

Believe me, I thought about throwing it away, but it belongs there somehow.
