My Seasonal Altar
With each turn of the wheel through the seasons, I like to give my Avalonian Altar a make-over. I take things away and add new ones. Most baubles in my home have special and sacred meaning to them. My matron goddess is Morgan le Fae. She always has a special place on my altar. To me, Morgan le Fae is he ultimate sorceress and healer. She is Mama Death, Queen of the Dark Fae, and Witch Mother.
At the moment, I am writing a book on Her and the way I honor and work magick with her. It is my hope to have it self-published my Samhain of next year. My wish is to show how I work with Morgan le Fae throughout the year.
Do you change your altar through the seasons? Do you have a deity or deities that are center stage on your altar? If you were to write a book, what, or who would it be about.
Have a blessed weekend, Viv

Oh, I definitely change my altar with the seasons. Yours is very lovely. I would love to read your book when you complete it. Although she is not my matron goddess, I am fascinated with Morgan le Fae.

Your altar is beautiful, Vivienne! I clicked on the picture to really check out the details. And it's wonderful that you're writing a book!

I love your altar! Very beautiful my friend! I do change mine as well! But, I have to admit, I am behind today! Bad girl I am! I can't wait to read your book! I actually have a very large statue my mom gave to me a long time ago, and I just painted her. My mom wasn't offended and actually loves what I did. She is right in the middle of my altar, that and a very special red stone and many other pieces ;o) Big Hugs ;o)
ReplyDeleteHugs Stacy... I would love to that statue. I'll keep you posted on my book.

I don't have an alter as the path I follow is a mix of so many of my ancestors' beliefs: Italian Strega, the nature-based Oglala Sioux and Cherokee beliefs, even some Irish Catholic mixed in there. I guess the closest thing I have to an alter and a church is the forest I live in. On second thought, I'm always picking up rocks, leaves, feathers, etc., and placing them around inside my cottage and outside on large boulders in the forest, so maybe I have a lot of little alters everywhere?
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to read your book, Viv!

ReplyDeleteThank you... It's from Brian Froud. I love his work!
DeleteHi Viv! I haven't had an alter for a long time. I haven't had a real home in about 2 years and where I am now there is no room except one corner of my art table where I have put a couple special things from Stacy there. It feels great and once I did it, my life took an amazing turn for the better. Life is starting to fall together instead of apart and I am so, so grateful. I would love to read your book and look forward to your teachings throughout the year! Hugs, Rasz
